Coach Cantwell has been involved in Colorado Lacrosse since the fourth grade and is entering his second year as a member of the Lobos coaching staff. Prior to arriving at Rocky Mountain, Coach Cantwell was the head coach at Thompson Valley High School for five years, and before that, he served under Coach Rich Modesti as offensive coordinator. Coach Cantwell won the 4A Assistant Coach of the year in 2014, 4A Head Coach of the year in 2018, and NFHS Colorado boys lacrosse coach of the year for the 2017-2018 school year. In his final two years (2018-2019) at Thompson Valley, the Eagles went 28-5 in the state of Colorado and finished with the number one RPI in 4A both seasons. Coach Cantwell attended Lakewood High School, and was a four-year starting midfielder/attackman, 1st Team All-Conference, and 1st Team All-State selection for Golden High School (2002-2005). Coach Cantwell is still the all-time leading scorer in Golden lacrosse history. He was also a four-year starting quarterback and all conference selection at Lakewood from 2001-2004. Following high school, he attended Colorado State University. He won a club National Championship in 2006 as a member of the lacrosse team and was voted team captain in 2009. He earned a Bachelor's degree in political science (2009) and a Master's degree in educational leadership (2017) from CSU. He is currently in his tenth year as a social studies teacher at Poudre High School. Coach Cantwell served as the varsity quarterback coach at Poudre for seven years and coached there for 10 years (2009-2019). His wife, Meagan, and daughters, Addison and Camryn, are a daily inspiration.
